Microsoft unveiled the Surface Pro 6, which is a refresh of its signature Surface device. It is available for pre-order now and will begin shipping on October 16th.
Surface Laptop 2
Microsoft claims the Surface Laptop 2 will be up to 85-percent faster than the original, thanks to a new 8th gen Intel processor. It will also feature an improved keyboard, a 1500:1 contrast display, and like the other Surface devices, come in a sleek black finish. The Surface Laptop 2 is available to pre-order now, starting at $999, and will launch on October 16th.
Surface Studio 2
For the big spenders, namely creators and digital artists, the Surface Studio is receiving an update. It is the same design as the original, but under the hood will pack Intel’s 7th gen 7820HQ processor and an NVIDIA GTX 1070 for improved graphics. The Surface Studio 2 is available for pre-order now, starting at $3,499, and will launch on November 15th.
Surface Headphones
This is one of the interesting announcements during this week’s event. The Surface Headphones look to be the “Anti-AirPods” and are a pair of noise-canceling cans that are wireless and connect to devices via Bluetooth. They also have Cortana integration, 2 beam-forming mics on each ear cup, and various levels of noise cancellation you can tweak while using them. They will sell for $350 a pair, and no official release date has been announced.
In addition to the devices, Microsoft also announced the new Surface All Access program that starts at $25/month and includes a Surface device with a two-year subscription to Office 365. Also, Windows 10 October 2018 Update version 1809 is available now for “seekers” and will begin rolling out in phases beginning on October 9th.
