The steps in this article are going to change the number of worksheets that new workbooks will have by default. This will not affect any existing workbooks, nor any workbooks that you receive from other people. This only affects new workbooks created from this point forward. Step 1: Open Excel 2013.   Step 2: Click the File tab at the top-left corner of the window.

    Step 3: Click the Options button in the column at the left side of the window.

    Step 4: Scroll to the When creating new workbooks section, then change the value in the Include this many sheets field to the number of worksheet tabs that you want in new workbooks. Click the OK button at the bottom of the window to save your changes.
